I Will Not Be Labeled As Average...

I am feeling a little inspired after this weekend, I must say. I was dragged back to the high school I went to in order to hear a guest speaker on the Columbine shootings. I thought it was going to be a waste of time, I mean it happened 13 years ago, what is left to say?! All I can say is I was surprised and inspired.

The organization is called Rachel's Challenge and they have been touring the country speaking at high schools for years. It really is a touching story about a girl that was destined to change the lives of everyone she encountered. She had premonitions of dying young and that her death would inspire and transform lives. And she did. Rachel was one of 13 victims killed during the Columbine shootings.

The thing I took away most from the speech was a quote by Rachel saying, "I will not be labeled as average."

Too many times in our lives we just go with it, not thinking about our goals and dreams and whether or not we can actually reach them. What is the point of going through life if you have no dreams? Her message has inspired me to dream again and actually go for it, because nothing is impossible.

Sorry to get soft on you guys following me, but it was refreshing to see someone that cared about the happiness of others. Check out her site, it is a great message.

"Don't let your character change color with your environment. Find out who you are and let it stay its true color."- Rachel Scott
