So I recently just came back to the blog scene because I didn't really see the point of it before, but tonight I think my opinion has changed. I have been putting off being productive for tomorrow morning, but have found some inspiration and good in the world. I am sure most of you have seen the latest starbucks commercial and love the vibe and music coming out of your television. Well I looked up the song and it is by a group called the Freelance Whales.
I know what you are thinking, a song from a commercial, why would I actually enjoy listening to it? The answer is easy, this band is epic. It is like they took the most random and fun instruments and combined them with some great harmonies. The result is a mellow and warm feeling sound that you can't just listen to once.
So I did what every person in the world would do, I Youtubed the band to see what videos I could find. The videos I saw did not disappoint me. I mean one video was the band playing 'First Floor Generator' in the middle of a busy and loud NY subway. It was awesome to see the reactions of some people who are too caught up in the hustle and bustle of life rather than enjoy the amazing sites and sounds the world has to offer.
I kept watching videos and came to a school choir that invites musicians to play music with them. They are called PS22 and they have covered or sang along with tons of famous artists/bands. It gave me chills watching them perform with Freelance Whales and also a band called Little Dragon.
Anyway, this long journey of searching videos and blogs landed me at this video which I thought was refreshing. It is called 'Twice.'
