On the Road Again...

So the reason I have not been posting as much lately is because I have been traveling a lot. I recently returned from a road trip to Kansas City where I was met by great people, amazing food and a good music scene. The reason behind this trip was a concert by Foals, the Freelance Whales, and the Naked and Famous at the Beaumont Club. Incredible is the only word I can think of when I try and summarize the evening. The Freelance Whales stole the show, but the Naked and Famous got my attention as well. And towards the end of the night, I hung out with lead singer for the Freelance Whales, Judah Dadone. If you haven't heard of any of these bands, you should really check them out.

Kansas City was better than I expected. During the trip we ate at two restaurants featured on the Food Network Channel, Jack's Stack and Grinders West. Both restaurants were absolutely delicious. We also found a nice district in KC called the Plaza. It is slightly more expensive than other parts of KC, but for good reasons. The district's architecture was designed with inspiration from a city in Spain. Also it includes some of the most luxurious stores in the nation. It also has some local businesses such as Three Dog Bakery which is a stylish bakery for all natural dog treats. Overall, a very fun trip.

When I returned home from Kansas, I received a call for an interview at a marketing firm in Denver. I have some friends that live near LODO off of 38th street. They showed us around the town a bit after my interview and we ate at some local dive restaurants such as Hops & Pie and also the Ale House at Amato's. I met some new people including Spence from a band located in Alaska called Reed Lakes. There was a lot of laughter, opportunity and good warm feelings these last few days. If I make the move to Denver, I think I am going to like it!
